I’m going through the Practical Malware Analysis book and honestly, I’m having a hard time.
Chapters 1 through 8 were relatively easy. I could get 75% of the answers without looking at the solutions. I’m currently at Chapter 13 and boy is it tough. Assuming each chapter has three exercises here are my average success rates for Chapters 9-13:
Exercises 1: 40% of answers on my own, after spending an hour on the exercise.
Exercise 2&3: 20% of the answers on my own, after spending an hour or two (30% if I’m able to pivot to something useful).
Is this normal or do I need to realistically think about my career? (I’d like to have a career in malware analysis)
