BJP leader Tajinder Bagga's mother Kamaljeet Kaur spoke about her son's arrest and accused Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal of 'misusing his power'
New Delhi: Distressed by BJP leader
's arrest by the
police, his mother
accused Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal of misusing his power. Kamaljeet Kaur, who is currently at her brother’s place in Bihar's Muzaffarpur alleged that Punjab police failed to follow protocol during the arrest. "We did not have any prior information about the Punjab police's actions," she said.
Notably, BJP leader
was arrested by Punjab police on Friday morning from his Tilak Nagar residence in Delhi in connection with a complaint registered with the cyber cell of the Punjab police.
Punjab police followed no protocol
Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) national secretary, Tajinder Bagga's mother noted that the police personnel forcibly 'dragged him out.' "They did not even give time (to Bagga) to wear his turban," she said. Kamaljeet Kaur also alleged that the Punjab police followed no protocol as neither did they present any documents pertaining to Bagga's arrest, nor did they inform the local police unit about the same. "The Punjab police acted like 'hooligans', arrived in civil attire and took him away. What is this if not kidnapping?" she asked.
Kamaljeet Kaur also claimed that when Tajinder's father tried to call her, Punjab police personnel 'snatched his phone' and beat him. She further noted that his father somehow managed to call and inform her of the arrest despite being in shock himself. According to her, after being notified of the incident, she called the area SHO of the Delhi police to realize he had no idea of the arrest. "After 10-15 minutes of the arrest, two people informed the Janakpuri police station of the same. What protocol is this?" she asked.
'Arvind Kejriwal is misusing his power'
Explaining the matter, Bagga's mother said that the AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal hurt the sentiments of Kashmiri people by calling the movie 'The Kashmir Files' a lie. "Kejriwal was insensitive to the people who suffered and witnessed the biggest massacre since 1947. He should have apologized for his 'disrespectful' statement but he refused to. Following this, the BJP leader (Tajinder Bagga) warned him that he 'won't let him live in peace' until he apologises'," she said. Kamaljeet Kaur then accused the Delhi CM of twisting Bagga's statement that 'he (Bagga) threatened to kill him (Kejriwal)' which eventually led to the arrest alleging that 'Kejriwal is misusing his power.'
'Don't resort to hooliganism'
Addressing the Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Bagga's mother warned him to not resort to 'hooliganism.' "If you have any problem, file an FIR with the Delhi police in a proper way. We'll fight the case properly in the court. Right and wrong will be decided legally (roughly translated)," she said.
Kamaljeet Kaur further alleged that BJP leader Kapil Mishra said that he had already received a threat that 'he was going to be the next.'
