Visa, the global leader in payments technology, has signed on as a strategic partner for Sri Lanka’s eighth annual Cyber Security Summit on 30 November and 1 December at Waters Edge – Battaramulla.
The summit consists of two key events: ‘Cyber Security Day’ Conference on 30 November and ‘CEOs’ Forum on Cyber Security’ on 1 December. The CEOs’ Forum discusses why cyber security should be a board room discussion, whilst the Day Conference has innovative and informative sessions, including discussions on payments and settlements, digital currencies, network security standards and compliance, and 5G technology and its security concerns.
The summit is co-organised by CICRA – Sri Lanka’s pioneering cyber security training and consultancy organisation – and Daily FT, the country’s only business and finance newspaper.
Speaking on the partnership between Visa and the Cyber Security Summit, Visa Sri Lanka and Maldives Country Manager Avanthi Colombage said: “We are delighted to partner with CICRA yet again for the Cyber Security Summit. With the continuous innovation and growth of different forms of digital payments, cybersecurity assumes a leading position in the day-to-day operations of any digital business, big or small.
“As Visa, we are focused on providing value to our clients, banks and the ecosystem at large, by devaluing, protecting and harnessing data, along with empowering consumers and driving innovation. As digital commerce continues to expand in Sri Lanka and innovations enter the ecosystem, we are committed to spearheading the conversation on security to ensure our partners adopt global best practices and tackle payment risks with greater efficacy.”
CICRA Group Director/CEO Boshan Dayaratne said that the co-organisers are honoured to have Visa – a network working for everyone – as a partner of the summit for the fourth consecutive year.
“This year’s summit will be a better and novel experience under the post-COVID cyber security culture with number of international and local cyber security experts addressing the gathering,” Dayaratne said.
“Main objective of the summit is to create awareness on the importance of cyber security among top officers in the top corporate management and IT professionals. It also enables them with the best practices in acquiring, implementing, managing, and measuring information security postures of their organisations and countermeasures.”
“The summit will also expose latest flaws in information security that affects the global community, including the corporations and the governments. Discussions and presentations will revolve around some of the most malicious attacks and potential threats surrounding the security field and how the corporates can prepare towards a secure new normal,” he said.
