There are 15 new community Covid-19 cases in Waikato.
Of those six are in Huntly, four in Hamilton, three in Te Kūiti, and two in Ngāruawāhia. All cases have been linked to previous cases.
This brings the total number of cases during this Waikato outbreak to 410, as the region prepares for a “Super Waikato Weekend” vaccine push focussing on Māori.

Further locations of interest have been identified across Hamilton, Huntly and Te Kūiti, which have been added to the Ministry of Health’s website.

Bay of Plenty
One of the cases is based in the Tauranga area and is a close contact of a previously confirmed case. They’re already in isolation.
The second person returned a positive result after receiving a test in Tauranga, however, they usually live in Waikato.
They have been included in the Bay of Plenty case numbers, but they will be transferred safely back to their home in Waikato.
The spread of Covid-19 in the Bay of Plenty is another reminder to get tested if you’re feeling unwell and get your first dose of the vaccine if you haven’t already, a statement said.

The one new cases in based in Rotorua. The case is a close contact of a previously reported case and has been in isolation.
Testing is available at a number of medical centres and Hauora Māori health providers around the district.
On Thursday, there were 16 cases in Waikato.
Eight were in Te Kūiti, five in Huntly and three in Kāwhia. All cases were linked to known cases.
There were nine new cases in Bay of Plenty and one in the Lakes District, Rotorua.
Six of the nine cases are known close contacts and were already in isolation.
Interviews with the remaining cases were underway to determine the source of their infection.
A case announced on Wednesday in Eastern Bay of Plenty is self-isolating and being supported by Tūhoe Hauora.
