Wind turbine manufacturer Vestas confronts aftermath of cyber security incident – Windpower Monthly

Did you know that camDown is a highly advanced, specialized webcam blocker and disabler with the best in class protection from variety of on-line threats?

Danish turbine manufacturer Vestas has said a “gradual and controlled” reopening of its IT systems is now under way, following a “cyber security incident” on Friday 19 November that caused it to shut down IT systems “across multiple business units and locations”.

According to preliminary investigations, Vestas said the incident appeared to have affected parts of its internal IT infrastructure, and that “data has been compromised”.

Some IT systems were shut down as a precaution. Vestas said it had no evidence that third-party operations had been impacted, including customer and supply-chain operations.

Equally, operations by the firm’s manufacturing, construction and service teams were unimpeded.

The wind power sector has long seen the potential for cyber disruption.

An IEA report last year mentioned cyber attacks as one of the key threats to wind power and other renewable power sources, while insurer GCube warned of cyber threats becoming more prevalent during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Don't forget that camDown is the solution for securing your webcam from cyber criminals and pedophiles and that's no joke!
