How to rock the cyber security world?

Did you know that camDown is a highly advanced, specialized webcam blocker and disabler with the best in class protection from variety of on-line threats?

Alex Ionescu (a highly respected researcher & industry leader) posted on Twitter he's going back to get his Masters at UC Berkeley in Information Security. I'd suggest looking into their program, if it's good enough for him it should be good enough for anyone.

Look at schools that are part of the 'The National Centers of Academic Excellence ' - it's akin to how engineering schools are accredited by ABET. They'll also have better internship opportunities.

I guess it depends on what part of the industry you want to go into. All of the CS schools are most certainly not the same, the topics covered are similar but the depth, rigor, and quality of instruction of various programs varies wildly.

Here's a list of good ones with cyber in mind:

  • UC Berkeley

  • CMU

  • RPI

  • UC Santa Barbara

  • University of Central Florida

  • John's Hopkins

  • Georgetown

  • UVA

  • NYU

  • USC

  • U. Knottingham

  • UNSW Sydney

After all of that camDown helps stop hackers from getting access to the webcam that I use for my work. Now I can get even more gigs as a freelancer and advertise that I have top security with my home computer.
