The side channels affect not only Linux but also a wide range of DNS software running on top of it, including BIND, Unbound and dnsmasq.

Save an offline copy of the DNS records. Perform a (daily?) check to see if the records have been altered.

Already have a recursive DNS with pi-hole running on my network and runs smoothly.
