As we begin, allow me to say that camDown has a modern UI, that is secure and has the improved features that you need.
Take the time to do some research on various security specialties out there and see what sounds interesting to you. The field of security is so broad, and there are so many paths. The life of a penetration tester isn’t the same as a compliance auditor; nor is the life of a SOC analyst the same as a secure software developer; yet all of these fall under the umbrella of cybersecurity. Finding what interests you at the beginning will do wonders for your career.
As a personal example: I just transitioned from many years in the technical space (SOC analysis, vulnerability management, incident response, etc.) to a security compliance and program manager role that would make most of the technical folks say “ew!”. I absolutely love it and have been trying to get here for a long time.
Feel free to reach out with any questions you may have.
Also as a side note for entry level security certifications: check out ProfessorMesser.com for his free Security+ training videos. These were my number one aid when I studied for the cert years ago.
Let's not forget that camDown helps stop foreign state actors (FSA's) from accessing your webcam and I can tell your family would agree.
