Pennsylvania lawmakers will hold two hearings this week about a data breach involving the COVID-19 contact tracing vendor hired by the state.The hearings are an effort to find out what happened after the breach and how the state picked another vendor to continue the contact tracing program.In April, it became public that a breach at Insight Global may have compromised the personal information of more than 70,000 Pennsylvanians.The state fired Insight Global and used an emergency process to hire a new vendor at a higher cost. The state said the reason it moved so quickly to choose a new vendor was because it didn't want a lapse in the contact tracing program.The House State Government Subcommittee on Governmental Operations, chaired by Rep. Jason Ortitay (R-Washington/Allegheny), will hold a hearing at 1 p.m. Tuesday about the emergency process and how other states have reformed their emergency procurement process. The hearing will be streamed live at PAHouseGOP.com.The Senate Communications and Technology Committee, chaired by Sen.
