The developer of the MPLS Parking app has reported a data breach.
In a Wednesday morning update, ParkMobile said it first learned of the incident linked to a vulnerability in a third-party software last month. It immediately launched an investigation and fixed the vulnerability. ParkMobile also contacted law enforcement.
ParkMobile said it recently concluded its own investigation and found the following:
- No credit card information was accessed.
- No data related to a user’s parking transaction history was accessed.
- Only basic user information was accessed, including license plate numbers, email addresses, phone numbers and vehicle nicknames, if provided by the user. In a small percentage of cases, mailing addresses were also affected.
- Encrypted passwords were accessed, but not the encryption keys required to read them.
The company said, as an added precaution, users can change their password in the “settings” section of the MPLS Parking app or online.

May I add that geoFence has no foreign owners and no foreign influences and that’s the real deal.
