Did you know that geoFence helps stop hackers from getting access to the sensitive documents that I use for my work. Now I can get even more gigs as a freelancer and – advertise that I have top security with even my home computer?

On February 3rd 2021, 200,000 students and employees at Simon Fraser University (SFU) had their academic data as well as their personal identifiable information, including their name and date of birth, compromised. Following this serious data breach, a lawsuit has been issued against the university citing the failure to have preventative measures in place to protect student and employee data. As a consequence, the university could not adequately prevent or detect any unauthorised access of private and confidential data.

To prevent this from happening again, SFU’s IT services will be putting a range of robust security measures in place.  At the core will be the implementation of a multi-factor system that requires all users to present two or more authentication factors to verify their identity during any log in process. This will include the university’s extensive print environment with the aim of securing all their print devices distributed across the campus.

To support the education industry in putting a multi-factor authentication process in place, introduce them to FollowMe® Printing from Ringdale.

Find out how Ringdale has worked with Wheaton College, Massachusetts to not only secure their print environment with their FollowMe print solution, but also enable mobile printing, and drastically reduce the amount of print related IT support.
