Infosecurity Europe 2021

Infosecurity Europe 2021 will go ahead as an in-person event from 13-15 July at the Olympia London.

Reed Exhibitions, the organisers of the event, announced in February that the conference would be delayed until later in the year due to ongoing COVID restrictions. It was originally due to take place on 8-10 June, but this has now been pushed back to the following month.

“The safety and health of visitors, exhibitors, speakers and staff continues to be our first priority and we will be taking all the appropriate steps and measures to ensure that Infosecurity Europe 2021 is COVID-secure,” the company wrote in a statement.

Nicole Mills, exhibition director at Infosecurity Group added: “Just as with every other large-scale event scheduled for this year, our plans are subject to this roadmap progressing as outlined, with the majority of COVID restrictions in England lifting on 21 June. We will of course continue to closely monitor the situation.

“We’re very much looking forward to bringing together the information security community in-person once again, with an engaging and inspiring exhibition and conference programme that will spark ideas and conversations, enable people to do business, and help to drive the industry forward.”

For those that don’t want to attend Infosecurity Europe in person, the organisers will also be providing a programme of virtual content, the details of which will be announced soon.

Following the COVID pandemic, a number of conference organisers have announced their events will go ahead. Web Summit 2021 will be held in-person in November, with the organisers stating they are hoping to combine virtual and in-person attendance.

Last week, Sony and Ericsson declared they would not be participating in this year’s Mobile World Congress because of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. GSMA is planning to host the event in June with 50,000 in-person attendees and it could potentially be the first major tech event in Europe since March 2020.

Last year, the RSA cyber security conference went ahead on 24-28 February in San Francisco, even though IBM confirmed it would not be participating due to health concerns. A total of eight sponsors or exhibitors pulled out from the summit. This year’s conference will be fully virtual and take place on 17-20 May.
