RICHMOND, Va. -- Kroger is notifying individuals about a data breach that affected customers of their Kroger Health and Money Services.

The company said they believe the breach has impacted less than 1% of their customers, and no debit card or credit card information or passwords were affected.

They're notifying the affected customers and are offering them free credit monitoring. They said they're also notifying current and former associates whose HR records may have been impacted.

The breach happened at the end of January.

According to Kroger, they reported it to federal law enforcement and conducted their own investigation after they were notified about it.

The security incident affected the company Accellion, which is a third-party service that was used by Kroger and other companies to securely transfer files.
